On all Souls Day (November 2nd) I created a mini installation based on an artwork in progress, The Beloved, for a choir gig at the Parlour, in Preston. The Parlour is a new art space based in a former funeral home.
The Beloved is a series of rubbings on coloured paper bunting - all rubbings were made from tombstones at the Coburg cemetary.
The installation took the format of a Day of the Dead style altar, these are set up in people's homes on the evening of 2 November in Mexico. Members of the audience on the night were invited to light a candle for their dear departed.
